Advisor for load securing – stretching
With this article we would like to give a short view for our customers about the possibilities of transport securing with the help of our machines and equipments.
Transport packaging sucures bulk goods at pallets. The securing with stretch film is nowadays the most used way of transport secure. A short overview of the available machines and their possible application we will give you in the following:
Stretch film:
There are the following variations for transport secure :
- manually packaging with hand stretch film (hand unwinder)
- wrapping stretch robot
- semi-automatic wrapping machines
- full-automatic wrapping machines
Which type of machine should be decided depends finally on what kind of good will be packed and the amount of packed pallets per day or shift work. Due to the plurality of different machines almost all pallets with all dimensions can be wrapped. The stability depends on the number of wrapps, that means film thickness and film quality as well (film thickness is normal about 15-23µ).
A staff will not understandably pack all pallets with a manual unwinder the same way and the number of wrapps will highly swinging. Particulary the foot wrapps are often unattended, which make the bond of the goods and pallet. Generally is the film usage with manual practise higher then with a machinary usage. The highest possible stability will be reached with the prolongation of film in the elastical area and subsequent back prolongation of the film. Such a prolongation cannot be reached with a manual application. Therefore you can say that the manual way to stretch is more a protection of dust and wetness then a transport saftey. This alternative should be choose if you have occasional pallets to wrapp.
With a semi-automatic solution you will save material and time. Depending on the number of pallets you can have a time saving of several hours per week. So you can reduce personnel costs by using the staff more effective.
A low cost alternative to to manual unwinder is our turntable stretch wrapper epw61000. This machine is suitable for residential factory and a dimension of packaged goods of an Euro pallet. The stretch robot epw620 is flexible alternative to the turntable stretch wrapper. This machine has its advantages, when packaged goods have different sizes, are heavy or they have to be packed on different locations in the factory. The residential variation to a stretch robot are rotary arm stretch wrapper of epw600 serial. The packaged goods are here fix at the floor during the wrapping process as well so insecure goods can be safe wrapped.
We recommend the semi-automatic for a peformance of 5 to 80 pallets per day.
If you have a higher performance we will suggest a full-automatic wrapping machine. The right choise depends as well on de packaged goods and the output you need. At the low performance area or packaged goods with special body the rotary arm stretch wrapper epw700 will be an excellent choise.
At high performance are you should choose a ring wrapper, because you can drive a clearly higher rotation speed. With model Movitec S8 it is possible for example a performance of 160 pallets per hour. You will have also more advantages with a ring wrapper to a rotary arm stretch wrapper in a tight built in because they can be constructed more compact.
